the caa's new environmental sustainability strategy
In May 2022, the CAA published its Environmental Sustainability Strategy and Areas of work which set out how the CAA will work with the whole aviation system, both domestically and globally, to address environmental performance in aviation. The CAA’s indicative Sustainability Work Plan 2022/23 includes a workstream to produce annual reporting for aviation noise and performance, an initiative UKACCs has been pressing for with the DfT and CAA over the past few years.
The CAA’s Environmental Sustainability Panel is now established and has held four meetings. It is an internal facing body to support, challenge and critique the CAA and to advise on issues now and into the future. The Panel's initial six months Work Programme has been published.
