BUSINESS MEETING AGENDA

SESSION 1   

1.1     Welcome and introductions 

Colin Flack OBE, Chair of UKACCs and Mark Izatt, Non-Executive Director & Heathrow Passenger Forum Chair, CISHA.

1.2   Notes of last meeting  in 2022

1.3  Overview & Key Issues for Aviation and Airports in 2023

(a) ACCs’ Top Issues Discussed in 2022-23

ACCs to share and discuss the key issues and challenges their ACC has experienced over the past year.   Paper 1  overview and summary of ACC issues shared in advance of the meeting. 

(b) Representatives from the Department for Transport to present on aviation policy updates and initiatives on:

  • recovery of the aviation sector
  • improving the passenger experience
  • passenger accessibility
  • baggage handling review
  • "Generation Aviation" one year on
  • airport slots review
  • aviation noise policy review and initiatives, including night flights at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airport.

(c) A representative from the  CAA to give an update on the Airspace Modernisation Programme and the work of ACOG.

SESSION 2

2.1   ACCs meeting the challenges for the future and sharing best practice

ACCs to share best practice and ways of working with a specific focus on improving ACC visibility and transparency; noise management, monitoring and reporting; and ACCs’ consideration of airport growth plans. Paper 2  sets out points to aid discussion.

SESSION 3

 3:1     London Heathrow’s Approach to Enhancing and Improving Passenger Accessibility

Heathrow Airport Limited to give a presentation on the airport’s approach to special assistance services and facilities to enhance and improve passenger accessibility.  Heathrow has published a report "Open for All" . Discussion on key issues for airports and ACCs.

3:2     Aviation Environmental Sustainability

The CAA’s Sustainability Team to provide an update on the airports’ engagement and complaints handling project, the UK Aviation Environmental Review 2023 (UK AER), ANAS and the proposed work on carbon and emissions. Discussion sharing views on and the ACCs’ role in monitoring airport environmental performance reporting.

SESSION 4 

4.1   UKACCs Internal Business 

To discuss the Chair's report on the work of UKACCs over the past year, UKACCs' accounts, membership & subscriptions, staff resource and UKACCs’ priorities for the 2024.
