Who We Are
Founded in 1980, UKACCs brings together the Chairs and Secretaries of Airport Consultative Committees (ACCs) of the larger UK airports. There are now 23 ACCs that are members of UKACCs. Find out more about UKACCs’ Members.
What We Do
UKACCs, in collaboration with our member ACCs, aims to demonstrate the tangible business benefits of stakeholder engagement to airports. We are committed to establishing ACCs as valued, critical and constructive friends, ensuring their insights are recognised and utilised.
UKACCs encourages stakeholders at all levels to consider how they can maximise the value of their ACCs. In addition to supporting ACCs in their daily operations through regular news bulletins and virtual information sessions, UKACCs convenes annually to exchange experiences, share good practices for conducting effective and constructive meetings, and to discuss matters of mutual interest.
Our Annual Meetings are hosted by a different airport each year.
Sharing Practice, Ideas and Experience
At its Annual Meeting in November 2025, UKACCs launched its “Practical Guide for Airport Consultative Committees – Sharing Practice, Ideas and Experience” (PDF). This new Guide complements the Department for Transport Guidelines and provides practical examples and ideas aimed at facilitating effective and constructive meetings, promoting transparency and inclusiveness within ACCs.
The Guide explicitly states that there is no “one size fits all” solution for ACCs and that it should not be interpreted as prescriptive requirements or official guidance. Instead, it serves as a collection of advisory concepts and illustrative examples.
UKACCs Work Programme
To strengthen its national presence and effectively participate in policy and strategy development by both the Government and the Civil Aviation Authority, UKACCs has established a two-year Indicative Work Programme. This initiative also aims to ensure that the ACC community presents a unified and coordinated voice at various important and influential national fora and stakeholder organisations.

UKACCs Membership Criteria
For an ACC’s airport to qualify as a member of UKACCs, it must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be an airport that has a passenger throughput of more than 600,000 passengers per annum;
- Be an airport that handles more than 20,000 fixed wing aircraft ATMs per annum, which includes a proportion of passenger flights. Consideration of membership for such airports is by application and such applications are subject to consideration and the approval of UKACCs; or
- Be an airport of particular regional significance. Consideration of membership for regionally significant airports is by application and such applications are subject to consideration and the approval of UKACCs.
The member ACCs of UKACCs collectively serve around 47 million people. This estimate is based on population data from 2021 to 2024 within the administrative boundaries of those local authority districts, counties, and unitary authorities represented on member ACCs.
